Hello and welcome! My name is Catherine Morissette and I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) working virtually in Ontario. I have a passion for guiding clients through their journey of finding themselves, balance, and exploring their relationship with others, their bodies, and food. I have experiencing working with clients presenting with anxiety, stress management, depression, grief, trauma, and relationships. I also have a special interest in athletics, body image, disordered eating, and performance anxiety.
I take an integrative approach with my clients which means I evaluate all factors and find what approach might work best for you as we evolve through the therapeutic process. I believe in working alongside my clients to ensure we build and maintain trust in the process. Every session, every exercise, and every topic has a purpose and I aim to keep my clients informed along the way.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a nutritionist and found passion in helping my patients achieve their nutrition and lifestyle goals. Since this comes with it’s own set of challenges, the conversation would often lead to the topic of mental health which planted a seed to pursue psychotherapy. My interest in the mind-body connection began.
I draw inspiration from animals and nature. Beautiful landscapes can remind us to slow down and take it all in while animals can inspire us to stay present in the moment. Mental health is affected by so many layers in our lives, which is why it is important to have a trusting alliance with your therapist to be able to explore these layers.
I aim to create a safe space in my practice which includes size inclusivity, anti-oppression, culturally responsive, and racially allied.
